After nearly 30 years in the music industry, hip-hop artist Lil Wayne is regarded as one of the most influential performers of his generation.

The New Orleans-born star is celebrating his newest album, “Tha Carter VI,” the latest in the 20-year “Tha Carter” series, with a national tour kicking off Friday, June 6, at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

KC fans of the five-time Grammy Award winner who want to see him this summer are in luck. Kansas City is one of the 34 cities he’ll travel to in 2025.

T-Mobile Center announced Lil Wayne will bring his “Tha Carter VI” Tour to the arena Tuesday, Aug. 26. He’ll be joined by artists Tyga and Belly Gang Kushington.

The rapper is a frequent visitor to Kansas City, having last performed at Azura Amphitheater for 2024’s Kelce Jam. He has played multiple shows in the area at venues like T-Mobile Center and Starlight Theatre.

Lil Wayne will play some of his greatest hits throughout his career on this tour, like “Tha Block Is Hot,” “Go DJ,” “A Milli,” “Lollipop,” “6 Foot 7 Foot,” songs from his upcoming album and snippets from popular songs he was featured on.

Tickets for his show go on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. Friday, June 6 on Ticketmaster.

Fans can sign up for presale access on the artist’s website, and these tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 4. A Rolling Loud presale can also be accessed at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 5 using the code “ROLLINGLOUD.”
