‘Impractical Joker’s’ home run let 2 ‘SNL’ stars score in Big Slick KC softball game
The Big Slick Celebrity Softball Game filled Kauffman Stadium with excitement and cheers for big celebrity names Friday night. Comedians and actors like Jason Sudeikis, Heidi Gardner and more stepped up to bat to show their support for Children’s Mercy Hospital.
The away and home teams came with serious spirit and a mood to have fun. The competitive, but hilarious game ended in a tie: 10 to 10.
No time for jokes
“Impractical Jokers” star Sal Vulcano took the cake Friday night with his impressive home run hit in the third inning.
Saturday Night Live icons Kenan Thompson and Heidi Gardner ran all four bases with Vulcano.
Playing for the away team, the star-studded trio added three runs to the scoreboard.
Super-score for Superman
Shortly before that, Tyler Hoechlin, well-known for his role as Superman in The CW’s “Superman & Lois” series, had taken the field. Although he missed the first pitch, his second was astounding.
Scoring the first home run of the game for the away team, Hoechlin solidified his Superman status.
Age ain’t nothing but a number
Bill Glass, a local actor turned author, proved that old age doesn’t stop anything, scoring a home run at 54 years old. The Chicago native went to the University of Kansas.
“I cannot believe that actually happened,” Glass wrote over text. He took his sweet time returning to the home plate, securing a run for the home team.
The Big Slick weekend ends tomorrow with the big show at the T-Mobile Center.
