Ghosts, music, food, drinks and terror: 4 KC area Halloween events for adults
Halloween isn’t just for kids.
As the spooky day gets closer, Kansas City area business are holding parties with frights, costumes and supernatural experiences.
Here are four events that adults can enjoy in advance of the holiday.
Walking with Ghosts: Real Life Hauntings with Amy Bruni
When and where?
The event will start at 7:30 p.m., Friday, Oct. 25, in the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts’ Muriel Kauffman Theatre, 1601 Broadway Blvd.
What fun stuff will happen?
Paranormal investigator, author and podcaster Amy Bruni will share tales of hunting ghosts at America’s most haunted locations.
How much does it cost?
Tickets are $37-$87; VIP tickets include a meet and greet with Bruni.
Where can I park?
Parking in the Arts District garage south of and beneath the Kauffman Center costs $13 in advance or $16 the day of the performance. Parking also is available on neighboring lots, which charge varying rates, and along streets.
One thing to know
The talk will deal with death and paranormal phenomena that can be violent.

End of Days Halloween Party
When and where?
The party will run 7-10 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26, at KC Live! in the Power & Light District, 13th Street and Grand Boulevard.
What fun stuff will happen?
This post-apocalyptic-themed celebration will offer access to 10-plus venues, entertainment by DJ Ashton Martin, a costume contest and food and drink packages.
How much does it cost?
Ticket levels are $60 for general admission, $60 for VIP and $75 for premium VIP.
Where can I park?
Parking is available in the KC Live! garage and in surface lots in the area.
One thing to know
Costumes are welcome, but items resembling weapons will not be allowed unless they meet safety guidelines.

When and where?
The party will run 8 p.m.-1 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 26, at the American Jazz Museum, 1616 E. 18th St.
What fun stuff will happen?
The event from Jett Production will feature food and music from DJ Rocky Montana.
How much does it cost?
Tickets are $15-$20.
Where can I park?
Street parking is available, as are lots at 18th and Paseo, 18th and Vine and behind the museum building.

The party will run 8 p.m.-midnight, Saturday, Oct. 26, at J. Rieger & Co., 2700 Guinotte Ave. in the East Bottoms.
What fun stuff will happen?
The haunted distillery will include music by DJ Cquence and DJ Smalls as well as tarot card readings, astrologer readings, face paintings and circus performances.
How much does it cost?
General admission is $82.66, including tax and gratuity. All-access tickets are sold out, but tables for up to 10 people are available for $1,500.

Free parking is available in the surface lot on the west side of the building on North Montgall Avenue.
