Kansas City Taco Festival is this weekend at KC Live! Here’s what to know before you go
There will be a taco takeover at Kansas City Live! this weekend.
The Kansas City Taco Festival will offer a wide variety of tacos as well as margaritas, mariachi music and other taco-themed fun.
If you’re thinking about attending the festival, here’s what you need to know.
Where is the KC Taco Festival?
KC Live! is in the Kansas City Power & Light District at 13th and Grand.
When do the festivities run?
The event is Saturday, Aug. 17, and Sunday, Aug. 18. If you pay for general admission, you can go from 2 to 8 p.m. both days. VIP admission gets you in two hours earlier.
What are some of the activities?
In addition to more than 20 taco and food vendors, the venue will feature a nacho station and multiple margarita bars.
There’s also a music stage, kids’ fun zone, ax-throwing area and vendor market. You can join in hot chili pepper- and taco-eating contests, lucha libre wrestling and piñata smashing for kids.
Where can I get tickets and how much do they cost?
Presales are available at tacofestkc.com. General admission, which includes one drink ticket, is $14.99. VIP admission, with four drink tickets, five taco vouchers and other amenities, is $64.99 for Saturday and $54.99 for Sunday. Early bird tickets have sold out.
Where can I park?
Parking will be available at the KC Live! Garage, free with validation from any Power & Light District venue. You must present your parking ticket for validation at the time of your visit.
