Priscilla Presley, Elvis’ former wife, is about to bring her tour to Kansas City
Priscilla Presley, the ex-wife of music legend Elvis Presley and subject of the recent movie “Priscilla,” will come to Kansas City in person.
She will bring “An Evening With Priscilla Presley” to Knuckleheads at 8 p.m. Dec. 22. Tickets are $119.50-$199.50 (pay $150 more for a meet and greet) and are available at knuckleheadskc.com.
Priscilla Presley, 78, will share personal stories and rare home movies. She was married to Elvis from 1967 to 1973. That part of her life is the focus of Sofia Coppola’s “Priscilla,” which is based on her 1985 memoir “Elvis and Me.” She later acted in TV shows (“Dallas”) and movies (“The Naked Gun”).
Her visit to Kansas City will cap an eventful year. In addition to the movie, which came on the heels of the 2022 hit “Elvis,” Priscilla was in the news when Lisa Marie Presley, Elvis’ only child, died in January at age 54. Priscilla challenged her daughter’s will before the dispute was settled.
Meanwhile, she toured with her show, making a splash with five appearances in England in May. She also made headlines at one of her events earlier this month in Las Vegas when she discussed why she never remarried.
“I just don’t think that he could handle that,” she said of Elvis, who died in 1977.
“To be honest with you, I never wanted to marry after him. I never had any desire. No one could ever match him.”
“An Evening With Priscilla Presley” also will visit the Aetos Center in Nixa, Missouri, on Jan. 22. Cailee Spaeny from nearby Springfield plays the title role in “Priscilla.”
Knuckleheads, meanwhile, will celebrate Elvis’ 89th birthday two days early on Jan. 6 with Elvis impersonators Jeff Bergen, Ben Johnson and Matthew Sharp. Tickets are $20-$35 at knuckleheadskc.com.
