Brian Williams lambasted on Twitter after issuing apology (with poll)
NBC “Nightly News” anchor Brian Williams’ “most trusted” journalist status has taken an embarrassing hit after being called out in the Stars & Stripes newspaper for lying about riding on a helicopter that came under enemy fire when he was reporting in Iraq in 2003.
Here’s Williams’ apology on Wednesday’s “Nightly News.”
Watch this clip from his 2013 interview with David Letterman in which he says, “Two of our four helicopters were hit, by ground fire, including the one I was in.”
