The entire fashion world gasped when Amal Clooney stepped onto the red carpet for her first big Hollywood event, wearing a black gown and long, white gloves. “A modern-day Audrey Hepburn,” trumpeted London’s Daily Mail.

She told Ryan Seacrest on the red carpet that “the gloves are just my own.” Joked new hubby George: “She sewed them just this morning.”

Meanwhile, redheads Emma Stone, Julianne Moore and Jessica Chastain shone in glittery metallic gowns. Rosamund Pike, Kate Hudson and Emily Blunt wore white, the big look of the night.

But Keira Knightley, Sienna Miller and Claire Daines just weren’t up to the red carpet. Fail.
