Valentine’s events: Wining, dining, music and more
With Valentine’s Day on a Sunday this year, the holiday is something of a full-weekend celebration.
Many area restaurants will offer Valentine’s specials Feb. 13 and 14; some will even get things going Feb. 12. Area theaters and clubs will do likewise.
In fact, the best deal of the weekend may be Feb. 12 at the Arvest Bank Theatre at the Midland with Afentra’s VD Party featuring the music of Lucius, JR JR (formerly Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr.), Marian Hill and Yes You Are. The party is free.
Another show worth noting will be at Stanford’s Comedy Club, where Jimmie Walker of TV’s “Good Times” will perform Feb. 10-13, with a special Valentine’s Day dinner show Feb. 14.
If you’re looking for something more adventurous, you can try the Valentine’s Day helicopter special offered Feb. 12-14 by River’s Edge Aviation. Rates start at $130 for 10 minutes. That includes champagne and chocolates, if your stomach can handle them.
