‘Toy Story 5' Filmmakers Address if Taylor Swift is Connected to The Film

Did Taylor Swift write the end title song for “Toy Story 5?” That’s a question that’s been circulating ever since the idea popped up that Swift was somehow involved with the film and contributed a song to the soundtrack.

Now, the filmmakers who worked on “Toy Story 5” are setting the record straight on those rumors that Swift is somehow linked to the upcoming film.

It all started back on April 30, when Swift posted, and then took down, a countdown on her website that appeared to be “Toy Story”-related. The post had blue skies, white clouds and yellow, and all together, it looked like the “Toy Story” branding.

Then, fans realized that the release date for the film is June 19, which is the same day as the 20th anniversary of her debut single. Putting this all together, fans speculated that Swift was linked to the latest “Toy Story” film and even contributed a song to the movie.

But don’t believe the hype. In a new interview with Khoslaa, “Toy Story 5” director Andrew Stanton opened up about the rumors and said that, unfortunately, they aren’t true. But, of course, he would love to have her involved.

“It surprised us,” he said during the interview. “We’d be frickin’ honored.” No surprise there.

Producer Lindsey Collins also said that even though Swift wasn’t involved, if she was, it would “be pretty amazing.”

“The sad truth is, we watched the movie being mixed last week, done, and the song on the end of that was not Taylor Swift’s song,” Stanton added in the chat.

So, it appears those rumors are finally being put to rest, but you never know. Swift could surprise filmmakers with an original song out of the blue just for the movie. But, of course, she’s busy with wedding planning ahead of her big day with Travis Kelce of the Kansas City Chiefs, though, so probably not. Either way, the show is likely to be a smash hit, since it’s part of such a beloved franchise.
