HP and Riot Games Are Turning VALORANT Into a $3,049 Laptop
HP has announced the HyperX OMEN 16 VALORANT Limited Edition, a gaming laptop built in direct collaboration with Riot Games. It’s the first time the partnership has produced a VALORANT-branded laptop specifically, and the spec sheet makes clear this isn’t a cosmetic exercise with a mid-range machine underneath it.
The product is the third co-release between HP and Riot Games, following the OMEN 35L VALORANT Limited Edition desktop and the OMEN 16 League of Legends Limited Edition laptop from last year.
HP has found a workable formula with Riot’s titles, and it’s running with it.
What You’re Actually Getting for $3,049
The hardware tops out at an AMD Ryzen 9 9955HX3D processor paired with up to an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 GPU carrying 12GB of GDDR7 memory, with display configurations reaching up to 2.5K resolution, a 240Hz refresh rate, and a 3ms response time.
That’s a genuinely competitive spec for anyone serious about high-framerate gaming rather than just owning something with a cool lid. HP is also integrating its HyperAction keyboard, which the company claims supports an 8K polling rate – a feature aimed at players competing in fast-paced multiplayer titles where input latency actually matters.
The onboard OMEN AI platform handles one-click performance tuning, automatically adjusting hardware and in-game settings depending on the title being played, with specific support built in for VALORANT.
That’s a reasonable addition for a machine being sold to an audience that cares about frame-time consistency and not digging through settings menus mid-session.
On the aesthetic side, the device carries custom colorways, keyboard accents, and game-inspired design elements drawn from VALORANT’s visual identity.
HP also says there are hidden Easter eggs worked into the design for fans to find, though the company isn’t spelling out exactly what or where, which is either a charming detail or a marketing line, depending on your tolerance for that sort of thing.
The Collaboration’s Bigger Picture
Josephine Tan, Senior Vice President and Division President of Personal Systems Gaming Solutions at HP Inc., said: “We wanted this laptop to feel like an extension of the VALORANT experience, with hidden touches that fans will instantly recognize from the game. Working closely with Riot Games, we combined high performance hardware with aesthetics inspired by the VALORANT universe to create a more immersive experience for players.”
Riot Games’ Ivory Jones, Senior Director of Global Consumer Products, added: “VALORANT uniquely blends precision performance with bold, unmistakable style, and that philosophy is reflected in every detail of this collaboration with HP. Building on an already incredibly valuable partnership, this latest creation from the Riot and HP team unlocks a new way for players to experience VALORANT beyond the game itself.”
The HyperX OMEN 16 VALORANT Limited Edition is available to pre-order through HP’s website, starting at $3,049.99.
That puts it squarely in premium gaming laptop territory, which is exactly where a machine spec’d to this level should sit. Whether VALORANT fans who were already shopping for a high-end laptop will pay a premium for the themed version is the real question – but given how effectively Riot has cultivated its audience’s attachment to the game’s visual identity, HP is probably betting on the right crowd.
