Disney World Just Dropped the Opening Date for the Muppets Rock 'n' Roller Coaster and Your Summer Plans Are Officially Set
The legendary indoor coaster at Disney's Hollywood Studios is officially trading its classic rock roots for a heavy dose of felt and fur.
After months of silence behind construction walls, the high-speed attraction is set to return to the streets of Tinsel Town on Tuesday, May 26, 2026. This reimagined experience, now titled Rock ‘n' Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets, marks a colorful new chapter for the ride that has anchored the park's Sunset Boulevard since 1999.
The updated storyline brings guests into the heart of G-Force Records, where Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem are frantically rehearsing their hit "Can You Picture That?" Realizing they are running late for a major performance across town, the band recruits riders to join them in a frantic, high-velocity limousine dash.

This journey through Hollywood now features iconic landmarks that have been given a distinct Muppet-inspired makeover, ensuring the humor is as fast-paced as the launch itself.
To keep the experience fresh for repeat visitors, the attraction features a randomized soundtrack of high-energy covers performed by the Electric Mayhem. Riders might blast through the loop to "Song 2" or catch a unique rendition of "Born To Be Wild" featuring the vocal talents of Camilla the Chicken.

The setlist is further elevated by an impressive roster of guest collaborators, including Jennifer Hudson and Questlove on "Love Rollercoaster," Def Leppard joining in for "Rock! Rock! (Till You Drop)," and Kelly Clarksonlending her voice to "Walking on Sunshine." Disney has even hinted that a few secret bonus tracks may be hidden within the rotation.
The aesthetic shift is visible long before guests board their "limos," as the massive guitar at the entrance and the signature upside-down car have been repainted with vibrant, psychedelic patterns.
This transformation also serves as a new permanent home for the Muppets within the park, filling the void left by the closure of the Muppets Courtyard to make way for the upcoming Monsters, Inc. land. Along with the new music, fans should keep a sharp lookout for a dizzying array of celebrity cameos throughout the queue and gift shop, featuring everyone from "Weird Al" Yankovic and Travis Barker to Danny Trejo and Yvette Nicole Brown. It is a bold, groovy update that proves the Muppets are ready to take Hollywood by storm once again.
