BTS Drops a 14-Track Album, Netflix Concert, Documentary and an 82-Show Tour — All Within One Week

A new album featuring credits from Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker and JPEGMAFIA. A live concert streaming from a 600-year-old palace gate. A feature-length documentary directed by Bao Nguyen. And an 82-show world tour spanning 34 regions. BTS packed all of it into a single week in March, and the sequencing looks engineered to reward anyone paying close attention.

Here’s what’s arriving, when each piece drops and how to catch it all.

The Album: ‘Arirang’ Arrives March 20

BTS will release a new album titled Arirang on Friday, March 20. The record contains 14 tracks, and the list of outside collaborators spans genres: Diplo, Kevin Parker of Tame Impala, Mike Will Made It, Ryan Tedder of OneRepublic, Flume, El Guincho, JPEGMAFIA and Teezo Touchdown all hold production or songwriting credits.

According to BIGHIT MUSIC, the album reflects the group’s experiences over the past year and their 12-year career since debuting in June 2013.

“Set to release on March 20, ARIRANG symbolizes the group’s roots and sentiments felt by the members – RM, Jin, SUGA, j-hope, Jimin, V, and Jung Kook – this past year,” the label said. “It is a culmination of the BTS’s journey over the past 12 years since their debut in June 2013, channeling their experiences, thoughts, and emotions into 14 tracks that made them who they are today.”

The full tracklist: “Body to Body,” “Hooligan,” “Aliens,” “FYA,” “2.0,” “No. 29,” “SWIM,” “Merry Go Round,” “NORMAL,” “Like Animals,” “they don’t know ‘bout us,” “One More Night,” “Please” and “Into the Sun.”

Who Wrote What

BIGHIT MUSIC said the group members were involved in the album’s creative direction.

“Each member had a hand in steering the creative direction and anchoring each song in raw emotion,” the label said.

The individual contributions break down in specific ways. According to the label, RM is credited on every track except the interlude. SUGA and j-hope contributed to multiple tracks including “Body to Body,” “Merry Go Round” and “NORMAL.” Jimin participated in “they don’t know ‘bout us” and “Into the Sun.” V contributed to “2.0” and “Into the Sun,” while Jung Kook worked on four songs including “Hooligan.”

RM’s near-total presence across the tracklist suggests he anchored much of the writing, while other members concentrated their efforts on specific songs rather than spreading thin across all 14.

The Live Concert Streams on Netflix March 21

A live concert titled BTS The Comeback will take place in Seoul, South Korea at Gwanghwamun, the main south gate of Gyeongbokgung Palace.

The concert will stream live on Netflix at 8 p.m. Korean time on Saturday, March 21. For U.S. viewers, the livestream airs at 7 a.m. ET (4 a.m. PT) on March 21. The concert will remain available on Netflix after the livestream ends, so there’s no penalty for catching it later.

A trailer for the concert event was scheduled to be released on Wednesday, March 4 through Netflix’s social media channels.

The venue choice matters here. Gwanghwamun isn’t a stadium or arena. It’s the main south gate of Gyeongbokgung Palace, which puts the performance in a setting that connects directly to the album’s title and the group’s Korean roots.

The Documentary Drops One Week Later

A documentary titled BTS: The Return will premiere on Netflix on Friday, March 27, exactly one week after the album release.

According to Netflix, the feature-length film follows the group as they reunite after military service and begin working together again on new music. The members come back together in Los Angeles to create new music.

“This feature-length documentary chronicles the long-awaited return of pop royalty, BTS,” Netflix said in a description of the film. “From director Bao Nguyen, the film offers unprecedented access, following BTS as they come back together to begin a reunion set to be etched in pop culture history, while reflecting on the journey that transformed seven Korean members into global icons.”

Netflix’s description also leans into the more personal dimension: “As millions of fans await the comeback of the decade, BTS confronts quieter questions: how to begin again, how to honor the past without being bound by it, and how to move forward together.”

The World Tour: 82 Shows Across 34 Regions

Following the concert and album release, BTS will embark on a world tour in support of Arirang. The tour is planned to include 82 shows across 34 regions worldwide. Get ticket info here.
