Kansas City things to do: Whiff of spring at Powell Gardens, plus ‘Hedwig’ and ‘Once’

Powell Gardens east of Kansas City will reopen for the season with Orchid Delirium.

After being closed January and February, the botanical garden will offer Orchid Delirium starting March 3. The spring exhibit, which will run through April 16, will showcase hundreds of rotating blooms from Powell Gardens’ 2,000-piece orchid collection.

Powell’s hours will be 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Wednesday-Sunday, with admission $5-$12. More information at powellgardens.org.
