Kansas City’s Labor Day weekend is packed with air show, festivals, wrestling, more
First the festivals, then the theater openings — the local entertainment scene will be packed over Labor Day weekend and into next week. And that’s not even counting the Kansas City Air Show, the Kansas City Symphony season opener, big-time professional wrestling and rock icon Roger Waters.
Longtime favorites the Kansas City Irish Fest at Crown Center and SantiCaliGon Days in the Independence Square, both starting Friday, are the highlights of the festival schedule.
Hours for the Irish Fest, in its 20th year providing live music, shopping and much more, will be 5-11 p.m. Sept. 2 and 11 a.m.-11 p.m. Sept. 3-4. Tickets ($20-$70) and more information at kcirishfest.com.
SantiCaliGon Days, with Little Texas and Lone Star as music headliners to go with hundreds of exhibitors and a carnival, are free. Hours are noon-11 p.m. Sept. 2, 10 a.m.-11 p.m. Sept. 3-4 and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Sept. 5. Go to santacaligon.com.
