The Kansas City Zoo has hosted some unique events in the past, and soon they’ll add another festival to their list.

The GloWild! Larger Than Life Light Experience is a nighttime lantern festival coming to the zoo in September. The show was at the Little Rock Zoo from Nov. 2021 until Jan. 15 and is now making its rounds in the Midwest.

In a partnership with the Zigong Lantern Group, the exhibit will feature massive steel and silk art pieces that include animals, flowers, local landmarks and Asian cultural creations.

GloWild’s light sculptures are custom-made, with a few that you can walk through and others that move around.

The lanterns will be spread across the Zoo starting on Sept. 1, and they’ll be there until Dec. 11.

It’s a one-path walkway with plenty of opportunities to capture the perfect photos for your timeline.

Tickets will be available for Friends of the Zoo on May 16 and for the general public on May 30. It’ll be a different ticket than what you would normally buy to gain entry into the zoo.
