Things to do in Kansas City: ‘An Officer and a Gentleman’ musical, Santana, DiDonato
The 1982 movie “An Officer and a Gentleman” featured one of the most memorable songs of the 1980s, “Up Where We Belong” by Joe Cocker and Jennifer Warnes. The musical version, which will run next week in Kansas City as part of the Broadway in KC series, builds on that by including a full array of 1980s hits.
Among the songs are “Higher Love,” “Love Is a Battlefield,” “I Can’t Hold Back” and “Renegade.” It opens at 7:30 p.m. April 12 and runs through April 17 at the Kauffman Center.
Tickets ($50.50-$135.50) are available at broadwayinkc.com.
