Things to do around Kansas City this week: ‘1917’ outdoors, Brookside Sidewalk Sale
The Oscar-winning movie “1917” will be the focus over two days at the National WWI Museum and Memorial.
Sorry, reserved spots are filled for the free screening of the 2019 film, which will be shown on a 23-foot screen on the southeast lawn at 9:15 p.m. July 10 as part of the museum’s Summer Movie Series. But “1917” is available to rent for streaming on several platforms, including Amazon Prime and iTunes.
At 12:30 p.m. July 9, Paul Biddiss, the film’s military technical adviser, will host a Behind the Scenes online discussion. The former British paratrooper with more than 24 years of military experience will share how he helped the filmmakers capture a realistic representation of World War I.
