Got weekend plans? Here are 10 KC theaters, musicians and more offering virtual fun

Like all other area theater companies, Kansas City Repertory Theatre had to suspend operations because of COVID-19. That doomed its OriginKC: New Works Festival, which was slated to begin March 6.

But the shows must go on, after all.

The OriginKC world premieres of “Frankenstein: A Ghost Story” and “Legacy Land” were filmed on what would have been their opening nights and are available online through April 15.

Before the pandemic hit Kansas City, Stuart Carden, the Rep’s artistic director, described “Legacy Land” as “a really compelling story about family that has revelation upon revelation, in terms of secrets of family.”

Ticketholders who did not receive refunds can view the videos for free. Others can watch them for $20 at kcrep.org.
