With roles in movies ranging from “So I Married an Axe Murderer” to the recently released “A Star is Born” and in TV shows such as “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” and “Lopez,” Luenell has a very familiar face — even if you can’t place her name. She also was one of Snoop Dogg’s “The Bad Girls of Comedy,” so laughs will be aplenty at her six shows over four nights. Also, 7:30 and 10 p.m. Friday, Oct. 26; 7 and 10 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27; 7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 28. 816-759-5233. Tickets are $20-$55 through improvkc.com.

The schedule: Part 1, Oct. 25 and 27, Nov. 1, 7, 10, 13 and 17; Part 2, Oct. 26 and 28, Nov. 2, 3, 8, 10, 14 and 17; and Part III, Nov. 3, 4, 9, 11, 15, 16 and 18. Runs through Nov. 18. 816-569-3226. If you consider marijuana one of the greatest evils of the 20th century, this is the play for you. Or maybe not. Inspired by a serious but hilarious 1936 propaganda film called “Reefer Madness,” this musical version takes a tongue-in-cheek look at the calamity that occurs when clean-cut Jimmy Harper is lured into puffing a marijuana cigarette. Recommended for ages 16 and older. 785-843-2787. Tickets are $10-$15 through lawrenceartscenter.org.

Grand Ballroom. Tickets are $25-$100 through kansascitygunsnhoses.com.
Chiefs vs. Denver
Noon Sunday, Oct. 28, at Arrowhead
If it seems the Chiefs just played the Broncos, well, they did. Less than four weeks after their stirring 27-23 victory in Denver, the teams will tangle again at Arrowhead. This will be the first time this season the Chiefs will have played back-to-back home games. It also will mark the halfway point of the season, and two things are clear: The Chiefs will score a lot of points, and they will give up a lot of points. 816-920-9300. Tickets are $150-$370 through chiefs.com.
Sporting Kansas City vs. L.A. Football Club
3:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 28, at Children’s Mercy Park
The Major League Soccer regular season has been rollercoaster ride for Sporting (0-4-1 June 30-July 28, then 6-1-0 Aug. 4-Sept. 15), and this match will be the final stop. The team is assured of a playoff spot, but will the ride be heading up or down when Sporting enters the postseason? The Los Angeles Football Club, not to be confused with the L.A. Galaxy, has surged into second place in the Western Conference since falling 2-0 to Sporting on Aug. 11 in Los Angeles. 913-387-3400. Tickets are $42-$71 through sportingkc.com.
