Comedian Rob Riggle added to Ink’s Middle of the Map forum
Actor and comedian Rob Riggle is a late-breaking addition to Ink’s Middle of the Map Fest Forum, which begins Wednesday and runs through Friday.
The topic: “Crawl, Walk, Run: The Big Slick Formula for Growth and Innovation.” Riggle’s talk is set for 1:15-2 p.m. Thursday at the Kansas City Star Press Pavilion, 1601 McGee St.
Besides his work on “Saturday Night Live” and in such movies as “The Hangover” and “21 Jump Street,” Riggle is familiar to Kansas Citians as a founder and host of Big Slick Celebrity Weekend, a fundraiser for Children’s Mercy Hospital.
Riggle attended Shawnee Mission South High School and became a Jayhawk fan at the University of Kansas. He lives in Los Angeles with his wife and two children.
The Middle of the Map Fest Forum kicks off Wednesday with “A Conversation With Malcolm Gladwell,” a sold-out event with Rainy Day Books, and includes more than 50 speakers and panelists.
A $35 forum pass that covers Thursday and Friday events is available at middleofthemapfest.com.
There is also a second chance to see Riggle on Thursday. During the Kansas City FilmFest, he will receive a KC Legend Award for Outstanding Achievement in Film and Television in a presentation at 7 p.m. at Cinemark Palace on the Plaza. Audience members will have an opportunity to ask Riggle about his film roles. Tickets to the presentation are $20.
