Digital Ally Open

The Web.com Tour, the top minor league of the PGA Tour, will bring professional golfers from around the world to Overland Park. This will be the fifth year for the Digital Ally Open, which will have a field of 156 players competing for a purse of $650,000. Wesley Bryan of Columbia, S.C., won last year’s tournament in a three-way playoff and earned a spot on the PGA Tour. Tickets are daily $10, week pass $25 through digitalallyopen.org.
Tumbleweed

Billed as America’s Outlaw Country Music Festival, this event goes way beyond music. Camping is another big part of Tumbleweed, which also will feature canoe trips, hiking, fishing, helicopter rides, vendors and barbecue. Among the acts performing will be Jamey Johnson, Cody Jinks, Whitey Morgan, Roger Creager and Billy Joe Shaver. Tickets are $69.99-$199.99 through tumbleweedcountry.com.
Chiefs’ training camp

For some fans, football season simply can’t arrive soon enough. The start of NFL training camps provides the first real taste of the sport since the Super Bowl in February, and a trip to St. Joseph is all that’s required for the true football aficionado to satisfy his or her longings. Sporting Kansas City vs. Chicago

This could be a playoff preview for Sporting, which hasn’t lost a home match this season and spent most of the summer in first place in the Western Conference of Major League Soccer before falling into second place over the weekend. The Fire, which is 9-2-3 since April despite losing July 22 at New York City FC, is battling with Toronto for first place in the Eastern Conference. 913-387-3400. The Great Car Show

Not only is the area around the Liberty Memorial a great setting to display vintage vehicles, but this show is for a good cause: benefiting the Kansas City Automotive Museum and the National World War I Museum and Memorial. KC Weddings Bridal Spectacular
10 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday, July 30, at Overland Park Convention Center
Anybody who plans to get married in the not-too-distant future will want to attend this event. Local vendors will be on hand to provide wedding and honeymoon ideas, plus there will be two bridal fashion shows and $20,000 in prize giveaways. “Summer Music Fit for a King”

The 60-voice Summer Singers of Lee’s Summit and Chamber Orchestra, with musical director and conductor William Baker, will perform their fourth annual concert, featuring Handel’s Coronation Anthems and Mozart’s Coronation Mass. Johnson County Fair

The rabbits and dogs will kick things off Sunday before the horses take over Monday, and the Johnson County Fair will get into full swing when the carnival opens Tuesday evening. The carnival will run through Aug. 5; other events will include more livestock judging, a tractor pull and a closing-night demolition derby. National Bikers Roundup

What began in Kansas City in 1977 with 49 motorcycle riders has grown into a five-day event with up to 30,000 participants. The National Bikers Roundup, organized by a group of African-American motorcycle clubs, is the largest camping motorcycle rally in the nation.
