Chickens, cows and merry-go-round horses: Your guide to county fair season
Over in one barn, judges peer into the eyes of a chicken. Across the way, a 10-year-old mucks out a stall, taking on all the necessaries in caring for her calf. And in another corner, preschoolers grasp tightly to their noble steeds aboard a merry-go-round.
The Wyandotte County Fair, ending July 15, marks the beginning of fair season in the Kansas City area. In the next few weeks we’ll have seven more county fairs around the area, culminating in the Missouri State Fair in August and the Kansas State Fair in September.
