Remember their names? Snooki. JWoww. Pauly D. The Situation.

Well, they’re baaaaaack.

Yep. Apparently Chris Christie isn’t the only one making a big splash along the Jersey shore these days.

Five years after they signed off, the cast of MTV’s “Jersey Shore” is back at the beach filming what looks like some type of reunion project.

Members of the cast have been seen dining, playing boardwalk games and filming at Point Pleasant Beach and Asbury Park over the last month, according to the Asbury Park Press.

In a trip down memory lane – the show ran from 2009 to 2012 – the newspaper posted video of the moment in 2013 when some of the cast actually met Christie on the boardwalk.

The governor, then, was famously not a fan of the show.

After a few moments of awkward banter and Snooki giving Christie a thickly mascaraed stink eye, she told her colleagues, “he just doesn’t like us.”

Other people apparently don’t, either.

The welcome mat is not out everywhere along the shore for the crew that darn near turned the catch phrase “GTL” – “Gym, Tan, Laundry” – into the state motto.

The newspaper reports that permits to film at a couple of places along the shore were declined by local officials and businesses.

“They called 10 days before they wanted to film, and we said no freaking way, it’ll be bad publicity,” Peter Mantas, entertainment director for an Asbury Park boardwalk restaurant called the Langosta Lounge, told the paper. “Bring those meatheads to the Langosta Lounge? No way.”

Clearly the show, criticized in its day by one Italian-American group as “trash television,” still has a bitter aftertaste.

Details about the reunion are unclear, right down to which original cast members are actually participating.

People trotted out the cast list for old time’s sake: Snooki, Jenni “JWoww” Farley, Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino, Ronnie Ortiz-Magro, Vinny Guadagnino, Pauly “DJ Pauly D” Delvecchio, Sammi “Sweatheart” Giancola, Dena Nicole Cortese, and Angelina Pivarnick.

Some of the cast members have been posting photos from the reunion on social media over the last few weeks. The female cast members showed off photos from a girls’ dinner at a steakhouse.

On July 3, The Situation, like a lot of other people on social media, took a shot at Christie for lounging on a state beach that he had closed to the public.

“Here We Come. GYM TAN CHRISTIE,” The Situation snarked.

No word on what the reunion will actually look like, or where it will air. MTV told the Asbury Park Press that it’s not involved this time around.
