Vibe x Def Jam brings ‘Hip-Hop’s Next & Now’ to SXSW with Jadakiss headlining

This year’s VIBE and Def Jam Recordings Hip-Hop’s Next & Now SXSW showcase will feature Jadakiss as the featured performer. According to VIBE, SAG-AFTRA is hosting a concert featuring up-and-coming hip-hop and R&B acts to celebrate Def Jam’s “marquee and emerging roster of artists” and the latest stars to make their mark in hip-hop culture. The SXSW showcase will take place on Wednesday, March 15, at the Empire Garage in Austin, Texas.

With a lineup that spans the past, present, and future of the genre, Hip-Hop’s Next & Now will also commemorate the genre’s 50th birthday.

Fan favorites like Armani White, Atlanta’s SwaVay, Houston’s Marqus Clae, social media stars like D-Sturdy & Philly Goats, and aspiring Broadway stars like Lil Migo and Pap Chanel will all be performing at the event.

The event’s DJ, Austin native GO DJ JB, will be spinning a variety of songs throughout hip hop’s golden era all the way through the new and exciting present.

The commemorative event, organized by two of the biggest media figures in the culture, VIBE and Def Jam Recordings, aims to recognize the wide-ranging influence and impact of hip-hop culture.

There is no doubt that Jadakiss is among hip-hop’s top 5 greats and that he can put on a spectacular performance all by himself. This event is expected to be similar in nature.
