School bus crashes near St. Joseph, at least 3 children are injured

At least three children are injured following a bus crash on Missouri Interstate 29 near St. Joseph, Missouri, according to reporting from St. Joseph News Press Now.
The St. Joseph Police Department sent out an alert at 3:44 p.m. Friday asking people to avoid northbound Interstate 29 “near Southeast Grand DD due to a traffic accident until further notice,” according to the alert.
Kansas City Scout lists the accident as a two-vehicle crash. The right lane of Interstate 29 in that area has been closed.
St. Joseph News Press Now reported the accident involved a bus of children from a school affiliated with Olivet Baptist Church in Westwood: Shawnee Mission Christian School. At least three children were loaded onto stretchers.
A school bus is being sent to retrieve children who weren’t injured in the incident, according to News Press Now. It’s unclear how many children were on the bus at the time of the crash.
