Lucas Melano should be hearing from the Oscars committee sometime soon for best acting in a comedy.
The Portland Timbers forward scored his first goal of the season on Saturday against Real Salt Lake, but it was this colorful dive in the first half that made noise on social media:

Of course, ridiculous dives such as this are the driving force behind soccer naysayers in this country, second only to the idea of scoreless draws. Still, there’s something so enchanting about Melano’s effort to simulate a foul: spotting the referee nearby, recognizing the touch of the Real Salt Lake player behind him and the impeccable tuck and roll.
