ABOUT VANCOUVER (0-1-0): The Whitecaps lost their home opener to Montreal last week, though the offense was clicking, putting 10 shots on goal. It wasn’t enough against the Impact, and to add insult to injury, midfielder Christian Bolanos received a one-game suspension for a dangerous foul. He will miss Saturday’s match.
ABOUT SPORTING KC (1-0-0): The team pulled out a 1-0 win in Seattle last week, and it should add some reinforcements Saturday. After missing the season opener, winger Brad Davis is set to make his Sporting KC debut. Seth Sinovic is also available for selection. Midfielder Benny Feilhaber, however, will likely miss his second straight match with a right abdominal strain.
BOTTOM LINE: Sporting KC won both meetings between the two clubs last season. It has never lost at home to Vancouver.
PREDICTION: Sporting KC 2, Vancouver 1
