Kansas City readies for a big MLS All-Star welcome

We're just about a month away from the MLS All-Star Game landing in KC and workers from Acme Sign Inc. on Monday continued setting up a massive mural at 1712 Main St. to promote the game.

The Major League Soccer All-Stars will take on Italian club side AS Roma on July 31 at Sporting Park. The match will kick off at 8 p.m. and will be broadcast on ESPN 2. It's the second year in a row that KC has played host to an All-Star game -- last year, Kauffman Stadium was the venue for the Major League Baseball bash.

Sporting Kansas City have six players eligible for the match: Matt Besler, Claudio Bieler, Aurelien Collin, Jimmy Nielsen, Oriol Rosell and Graham Zusi. Currently, Nielsen, Besler and Zusi are second in their respective positions in the fan voting process. Collin is fourth among defenders. You can have your say by voting at
