Coming into Thursday night, the Milwaukee Wave had been the MISL's hottest team, winning eight straight. Make it nine.
The Missouri Comets couldn't muster enough offense to put a stop to the blistering Wave, falling 18-6 at the Independence Events Center.
Byron Alvarez led the way for Missouri with two goals, John Sosa pitched in another.
The Comets fall to 7-8 on the season. Only Milwaukee and Baltimore have better records on the year.
They won't have long to lick their wounds, as the Comets travel to Wichita's Hartman Arena on Saturday to face the Wichita Wings.
The next home game will be Jan. 19 and it will be retro night with the players wearing throwback jerseys to the 1992-93 Kansas City Attack team. Kickoff is at 7:35pm and fans can get tickets by calling 855.KC.ARENA or going to CometsIndoorSoccer.com.
