A seriously under-manned Comets squad hung on to topple Rochester Lancers 13-11 for Missouri's fifth-straight league victory.
The Comets were missing Vahid Assadpour, Cristiano and Bato Radoncic. During the game, Ryan Junge and Tiguinho went down due to injury.
A Neto hat trick and staunch defense to hold off a furious Lancers rally pushed the Comets to 14-8 on the season.
The Comets have just two games to go -- both against Milwaukee, who lost on Sunday to Norfolk -- to finish out the season. The Wave are currently the Central Division leaders, but the Comets could pull even with a Wave loss to Syracuse on Wednesday and a Comets sweep of the two games next weekend.
Both teams have clinched the playoffs and will play each other on March 9th and 11th. That's four games in a row against each other.
In fan-appreciation news, the team will celebrate its 30th anniversary by retiring Kansas City soccer legend Gino Schiraldi's jersey on Friday night.
