The 2012 season will start on January 19 with the players entrance physicals -- no, they won't be televised -- at the Sporting Club Training Center in Swope Park. Training will officially begin the next day.
The team won't stay in KC for very long. On Jan. 29, the team will head down to Tuscon, Ariz., for two weeks. According to the
, the "Kansas City WizardS" will face the Vancouver Whitecaps in a closed session on Feb. 2 and the San Jose Earthquakes on Feb. 4.
On Feb. 20, the team will head to Orlando to prepare for the 2012 Disney Pro Soccer Classic. The first game of group play is Feb. 24 against the Houston Dynamo. That's followed by matches with the Montreal Impact (Feb. 26) and Vancouver (Feb. 29). The consolation and championship games are March 3.
Sporting will return to KC on March 4.
The first game of the season will likely be a road game the weekend of March 10-11 with the Livestrong Sporting Park opener on March 17.
