The Morning Kickoff: Sporting KC's first home game is today

The Morning Kickoff is your start-the-day-right collection of stories, opinions, news and videos from around the globe. We scour the Web, you click the link.

Today at 11:30 a.m. at the Swope Park Training Center, Sporting Kansas City's reserve team will take on Real Salt Lake's reserve team. It will be the first match Sporting plays in KC and the second reserve-league game this year. It's also the first time KC and RSL have played since

a preseason game descended into a "brawl."

Admission is free by the way.

Can't be there?

I'll live tweet it.

• Sporting KC's U-16s are having a great start to the season, having yet to lose a game in the Frontier Division. The U-18s sit in fourth place.

• According to Spanish-language reports,

Worth reminding, the only game he's played the full 90 this year was in the Home Depot Center against Chivas USA.

• It feels good to write this:

The T-Bones prepare for a season in a stadium all their own.

According to the Sporting News, Major League Soccer is working on security plans in the wake of Osama bin Laden's assassination.

• The fourth -- and thankfully final -- Clasico is this afternoon. Barcelona and Real Madrid kickoff at 1:30 p.m. on Fox Soccer Channel.

The rivalry

has hit a new low legendary referee Pierluigi Collina in to monitor the game.

Norwich -- and American Zak Whitbread -- sealed promotion to the Premier League yesterday.
