• Sporting Kansas City's Teal Bunbury is nominated for MLS' goal of the week. I'm absolutely stunned... they chose his second goal. I'm not stunned because the goal wasn't great (it was -- it showed his massive array of skills, improved shot placement and was scored with his left foot) but because MLS almost ALWAYS selects long-distance strikes for goal of the week. (His first goal was the sort of goal that would make it on Sportscenter if Lionel Messi scored it.)Go vote for it.
• Vancouver Whitecaps forward Camilo was voted Major League Soccer Player of the Week this week by the North American Soccer Reporters. Camilo scored twice in stoppage time to complete a tremendous rally by the home side and salvage a 3-3 tie against Sporting Kansas City. Camilo, 22, whose full name is Camilo da Silvo Sanvezzo, recently joined Vancouver after a season with Gyeongnam of South Korea’s K-League and previously led Maltese club Qormi in scoring with 24 goals in 22 games.
