Chad Ochocinco will not get a contract offer from Sporting Kansas City. That's not surprising. It's also not surprising that the team essentially

gave him an open invitation to continue training with the team

and made him an "honorary" Sporto.

When I was 11, I went to space camp in Huntsville, Ala. Along with my classmates, we went through the sort of astronaut training they could give a pre-teen in 1990. When the field trip was over, everyone was given the title of "honorary astronaut." Same thing?

The United States haven't won a game in 2011,

A couple of interesting results in yesterday's international action: Mexico drew 1-1 with Venezuela, England and Ghana drew 1-1, and Argentina and Costa Rica went scoreless.

Former Kansas City midfielder Jack Jewsbury led Portland to its first-ever victory with a 2-0 win in a U.S. Open Cup qualifier against Chivas USA. Jewsbury scored a cracker from outside the box for the games' first goal.
