The rapid-fire MLS Supplemental Draft is in the books (Sporting Kansas City announced their second-round pick before MLS announced the last pick in the first round) and Kansas City have added three more to their roster.
“These are guys that we have seen over the past couple of years who we think have a chance of making our roster,” Sporting Kansas City Manager Peter Vermes said. “With the re-introduction of the reserve league, there are spots available to provide depth and play in reserve league games, and we hope these three guys will be able to do that for us.”
In the first round, KC tookOhio State midfielder Sam Scales, 21.
His coach says he's extremely flexible (a trait Peter Vermes values) and can play on either flank, centrally or at fullback. If you're looking for connections, Scales was a teammate of 3rd-round SuperDraft pick Konrad Warzycha and current KC leftback Roger Espinoza.
The second round saw KC look toMissouri native and Southern Illinois-Edwardsville defender Mike Jones, 22
Mravec, if he makes the team, would take a foreign international slot.
We'll have more on Kansas City's current roster later this week.
