Jamaica takes Caribbean Cup on penalties

It's bragging rights time for Shavar Thomas.

The Sporting Kansas City defender and captain of Jamaica's national team hoisted the Digicel Caribbean Cup trophy on Sunday after

defeating Guadeloupe 5-4 on penalty kicks

. Kansas City midfielder Stephane Auvray was Guadeloupe's captain. Neither Thomas nor Auvray participated in the shootout.

Cuba topped Grenada 1-0

All four teams are qualified for the 2011 Gold Cup, which will be hosted by the United States. The sites for the Gold Cup have not been announced, but Kansas City's brand-new stadium is thought to be a contender to host games.
