Sporting KC reportedly extends Nielsen's contract

I was beginning to wonder if Sporting Kansas City were aware that the off-season had begun. After all the hustle and bustle that took place before, during and after the MLS Expansion Draft last week, it seemed down-right odd that Kansas City hadn't made more than a peep on the transaction front.

(it's a rough translation in that link, I apologize) is that goalkeeper Jimmy Nielsen has signed a contract extension with the team. As of right now, there is no verification from the team.

So, if you're keeping track at home: Jonathan Leathers is gone (drafted by Vancouver Whitecaps), Jamar Beasley is gone (having joined the Missouri Comets indoor soccer team after the season ended) and Nielsen had his contract extended.

The business of the future of Jimmy Conrad and Michael Harrington (both were out of contract) and any other extensions still is up in the air. Oh, there's also the
