NEW YORK — The other Donovan for the Los Angeles Galaxy — Donovan Ricketts — has been selected Major League Soccer's top goalkeeper this season.
Ricketts has already posted a career high 11 shutouts and allowed only 26 goals through 29 games. Along with star forward Landon Donovan, Ricketts helped the Galaxy go 18-7-5 and top the Western Conference during the regular season.
Andy Najar of D.C. United was selected Rookie of the Year on Wednesday. The 17-year-old midfielder is the youngest to win the award after scoring five goals during league play.
Sebastien Le Toux of the Philadelphia Union was awarded the Individual Fair Play Award, while the San Jose Earthquakes received the Team Fair Play Award.
