The Missouri Comets add three more players -- one with KC ties, two from St. Louis -- and will unveil their home and away kits this Saturday.
The players added were midfielder Bryan Perez, who holds the record for goals (29), points (70), shots (160) and games played (78) for UMKC, and defenders Brian Harris and Oliver "Olly" Dyson. Harris and Dyson both played for former Comets star Tony Glavin's St. Louis Lions of the United Soccer League. Perez played with Miami FC of the USSF Division II.
"This group will bring an incredible amount of energy and excitement to our roster," said head coach Kim Roentved. "These guys are really going to be a terrific compliment to the players we already have signed."
The Comets have also announced that the team will be unveiling their home and road uniforms for the 2010-2011 season this Saturday at the Comets Fan Fest, which runs from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Independence Events Center. The uniforms, provided by Nike, the Comets new apparel and equipment sponsor, will be on display throughout the event.
Fans can meet and get autographs from the coaching staff and take pointers on the newly-laid turf. There will be free cotton candy, free bounce houses and moonwalks, a season-ticket give away, home opener tickets, free ice cream, Halloween candy and a 30-minute player scrimmage starting at 11:30 a.m.
