The Full 90

Simple plan for KC: Win ... and wait

We said it

Tuesday

, we said it

Saturday

and, heck, I could've said it the last 2 months: This is a must win.

Forget the playoff scenarios. The Kansas City Wizards must beat the New England Revolution ... then wait to see if Los Angeles can do the same thing against Colorado. (KC-New England kicks off at 7 p.m., Colorado-LA is at 9:30 p.m.)

New England will be without goalkeeper Matt Reis, who just had

season-ending surgery on his ankle

. Also out: defender Kevin Alston, forward Zak Boggs, goalkeeper Preston Burpo and forward Taylor Twellman. The status of Kansas City winger Ryan Smith -- who missed the game on Tuesday to attend to a personal matter -- is unknown. The only player listed as questionable is Teal Bunbury (foot contusion).

New England, long eliminated from the playoffs, will likely be experimenting with their lineup. There's a good chance they won't be breaking out the 3-5-2 they used to in August when KC thumped them 4-1.

If you're somehow struggling to get pumped for this game, maybe this will help...

Vive les Wizards.
