Wizards to host Breast Cancer Awareness Night on Oct. 9

On Oct. 9, the Kansas City Wizards will host Breast Cancer Awareness Night at CommunityAmerica Ballpark in conjunction with the MLS W.O.R.K.S. Breast Cancer Awareness Initiative. There will be an auction featuring apparel, autographed pink soccer balls, jerseys and other player-worn items to raise money and awareness for the Young Survival Coalition Kansas City.

The game will be played with a commemorative pink adidias Jabulani match ball and players will wear a special pink MLS W.O.R.K.S. ribbon on their uniforms.

“Breast cancer is a serious disease that affects both men and women,” said JoAnn Neale, executive vice president of MLS. “Major League Soccer is proud to collaborate with our clubs, players and corporate partners to raise awareness and support the fight against breast cancer.”
