TORONTO — First-year coach Preki Radosavljevic has been fired by Toronto for winning only seven of 24 games in Major League Soccer. Preki, a former Kansas City Wizards legend, was inducted into the U.S. Soccer Hall of Fame last month.
Director of soccer Mo Johnston, also a former Kansas City Wizard, was also fired. He joined the team in 2007.
Assistant coach Nick Dasovic was appointed interim head coach on Tuesday with six games left in the regular season.
Toronto appears likely to miss the playoffs following Saturday's 1-0 home loss to D.C. United, which has the poorest record in the league.

The combo of Preki and Johnston hasn't been a very popular one in Toronto all year and the team's current slide (culminating in the 1-0 loss to D.C. United on Saturday) was apparently too much for Toronto's ownership. The team is in action against Real Salt Lake in the CONCACAF Champions League tomorrow night.
Anyone else sort of glad the Wizards didn't hire Preki as their head coach now?
