CARSON, California — Chivas moved off the bottom of the MLS Western Conference standings with a 2-0 home win over New England Revolution on Friday.
Justin Braun opened the scoring in the sixth minute with his ninth goal of the season. Alan Gordon passed from the right flank to Braun, who beat a defender and steered his diagonal 10-yard shot inside the left post.
Gordon also set up Paulo Nagamura's first goal of the season in the 36th minute. With his back to the goal, Gordon took Michael LaHoud's pass and sent the ball to Nagamura, whose 19-yard shot went in off the glove of diving goalkeeper Matt Reis.
Brazilian midfielder Nagamura spent the first half of the season with Mexico's UANL Tigres before rejoining Chivas.
New England has lost five of its past six, including the final of the SuperLiga tournament.
