The Danish goalkeeper put up a rather solid month (4 starts, 3 goals allowed, 10 saves, won his 5th save of the week award) and it was just enough to edge out striker Kei Kamara in fan voting for the second Full 90 Player of the Month Award.
My vote went to Kamara, who has settled down on the right wing and has really been a handful, creating or scoring 5 goals in the month of August alone. But it was the solid Dane that captured the votes of, you, the readers.
Nielsen finished with 43 percent of the vote; Kamara with 37. Both had a phenomenal impact on the team's success in August.
Congrats to Jimmy Nielsen for winning his first ever Full 90 Player of the Month Award.
