Wizards striker Kei Kamaratweeted today that he has been called in to the Sierra Leone national team
for an African Cup of Nations qualifier against Egypt on Sept. 5. The Wizards play Philadelphia on Sept. 4 in Philly, so they will be without their leading scoring for that pivotal game.
Sierra Leone's only other qualifying game in 2010 will be Oct. 10 against World Cup host South Africa. The Wizards host Seattle on Oct. 9 and travel to Chicago on Oct 12. That's three key games the team might be without Kamara. Curse Major League Soccer and its reluctance to adhere to FIFA's international dates!

Regardless, I'm always happy when a guy gets the national team call-up. Especially a guy like Kamara who you know will relish the chance.
