A few tidbits to get you through lunchtime. Featuring WPS to KC rumors, a live chat with PV and a potentially serious injury to a key Wizards player.
• Mike at Down The Bylinehas picked up some rumblings that Kansas City would be on the radar if Women's Professional Soccer expanded
. The rumblings come from a Sports Illustrated column last week. I'd be shocked if WPS actually does expand, as it seems as if that league is more prone to contraction. Since it began in 2009, two teams (Los Angeles Sol and St. Louis Athletica) have folded.
• Got a question for Peter Vermes? Ask him today as the Wizards host a live chat with the team's head coach and technical director. It starts at 1 p.m. and will end at 1:30 p.m.
• Lastly, my colleague Pete Grathoff was out at practice today and reports that left winger Ryan Smith injured his knee and had to be carted off the field. There is no news at this time as to the severity of the injury. Smith has taken a knock or two this year and has bounced back each time. We'll get you more when we know more.
