The Full 90

It's a great day for soccer

Today should be some sort of national holiday. Or maybe just a local one. But it's time to stop doing whatever you're doing. Call off work if you have to. Put off the lawn mowing until tomorrow. Skip your kids whatever game they've got going on. The USA game at 1:30 p.m. (with KC standing in as America for the ESPN cameras) and the Wizards game at 7:30 p.m. (with, well, not the same kind of spotlight shining). ... It's gonna be a great day.

I hope you find a good place to take in the USA-Ghana game. We'll be sequestered in Johnny's Tavern in the Power Light District sneaking peaks at the "Living Room" occasionally.

Things I want to see today: Don't give up a goal (or even a scoring chance) in the first 10 minutes. ... Michael Bradley and Maurice Edu starting in the middle. ... Jozy Altidore continuing his transformation from talented youngster to unstoppable beast. ... Herculez Gomez doing exactly what he did in the first half against Algeria. ... Landon Donovan and Clint Dempsey deciding that they won't let the game be decided in the dying seconds. ... An absolutely packed "Living Room" for the ESPN cameras.

Come on you Yanks!
