Get to know: DC United

Everything you ever wanted to know about D.C. United but where afraid to Google for yourself.

You all know by now that the Wizards old coach, Curt Onalfo, is in town with his new team. But there's more to D.C. United than handballs and former KC coaches. For starters, they've had a bit of a roster makeover too. And, they've been hit pretty hard by injuries on their backline.

DRASTIC MAKEOVER

Gone:

Christian Gomez (M), Luicano Emilio (F), Fred (M) and Ben Olsen (M).

In:

Troy Perkins (GK), Danny Allsopp (F), Adam Cristman (F), Kurt Morsink (M)

KEY PLAYERS

Santion Quaranta (M), Troy Perkins (GK), Jaime Moreno (F), Chris Pontius (F)

BEST NAME ON THE TEAM

Boyzzz Khumalo. The extra z's make it super bad.

BIGGEST QUESTION MARKS

A pourous defense.

First choice defenders Marc Burch and Bryan Namoff are injured and Bolivian center back Juan Manuel Pena is sorting out visa issues. Former Wizard Carey Talley will likely play at right back.

OVERALL OUTLOOK

They're thin at the back and inexperienced in the middle. Perkins will be called upon to make a lot of saves early. The strength is their attack. Moreno is an MLS vet and Chris Pontius is an exciting young player. Wizards fans should be no stranger to the Onalfo "offense."
