Kansas City Wizards forward Michael Kraus has been placed on waivers in advance of Wednesday's MLS roster compliance deadline.
Kraus joined the Wizards as the 48th overall pick in the 2007 Supplemental Draft. After spending his first two regular seasons in the reserves, Kraus made his MLS debut in the 2008 playoffs against Columbus. He went on to play 11 matches for the Wizards in 2009, scoring his first MLS goal against the Colorado Rapids on March 28.
Kraus was the only player that I didn't see today at Media Day. I did, however, see Mauro Fuzetti. The 2010 draftee is not under contract and, therefore, isn't on the current roster. Neither is Indian striker Sunil Chhetri who has been linked to the Wizards via various sources.**In previous posts, I apparently incorrectly counted 27 guys on the training roster. There were only 26. Apologies for the confusion. I believe I was counting Jimmy Conrad and his ego as two separate people.
The current roster looks a bit like this:Goalkeepers:
Jimmy Neilsen, Eric Kronberg
Korede Aiyegbusi, Matt Besler, Jimmy Conrad, Pablo Escobar, Michael Harrington, Aaron Holhbein, Jonathan Leathers
Davy Arnaud, Stephane Auvray, Birahim Diop, Roger Espinoza, Santiago Hirsig, Jack Jewsbury, Igor Kostrov, Chance Myers, Craig Rocastle, Ryan Smith, Graham Zusi
Teal Bunbury, Zoltan Hercefalvi, Kei Kamara, Josh Wolff
