In this week’s installment of the podcast, Charles Gooch (The Kansas City Star) and Andy Edwards (NBC Sports Pro Soccer Talk) dig into the injury to Ike Opara and dive into a full weekend’s worth of often crazy MLS action.

In Part One, Charles and Andy talk about what Opara’s injury means for Kansas City’s rebuilt defense (potential replacements, roster restrictions, etc.) and still-sputtering attack (he was the team’s leading goal scorer after all). The two also preview KC’s upcoming trip to Los Angeles to face the MLS Cup champs.

Part Two turns the focus to Major League Soccer, the game of the year, the chaos at the top of the table and the rapid (see what I did there) rebirth of Colorado.

Special thanks to the excellent band Deco Auto for letting us use the songs “One of a Million,” “Turning Down” and “Deco Stomp.” Listen to more of their music here.
